    The Colonial Parkway will be closed to motor vehicles between Williamsburg and Jamestown on Saturday, May 4 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the 22nd annual Pedal the Parkway event. Pedal the Parkway is family friendly plus a perfect recreational activity for cyclists of all ages and abilities. Pedal the Parkway is free, open to the public, and will take place rain or shine. Come join in the fun! This year’s event will again feature helmet giveaways for youngsters at the Jamestown end. Total length of this section of the parkway is about 8 miles but folks can turn around anytime for a shorter distance. Persons seeking longer distances may ride multiple laps. Runners and walkers are also welcome. The rest stop at Archer’s Hope will offer refreshments. Limited parking is available at Jamestown Settlement and Newport Avenue parking lots in Williamsburg. Pedal the Parkway is one of the many events held during Bike Month in the greater Williamsburg area.
