Williamsburg Crowns Itself “Pancake Capital of the World” with New Festival and Trail
Williamsburg is flipping out for pancakes this September! Proclaiming itself the “Pancake Capital of the World,” the city’s tourism group, Visit Williamsburg, is launching a month-long celebration to mark National Pancake Day on September 26. The inaugural Pancake Trail and Festival will offer a delicious array of events, culminating in a competitive pancake-eating contest.

Explore the Historic Triangle with the Pancake Trail Pass
From September 1 to October 4, 2025, visitors can embark on a culinary adventure with the free mobile Pancake Trail Pass. This exclusive pass allows users to “check in” at participating restaurants across the Historic Triangle (Williamsburg, Yorktown, and Jamestown). As you indulge, you’ll earn points that can be redeemed for pancake-themed prizes, exclusive discounts on lodging, shopping, and area attractions.

You can pre-register for the mobile-only pass at visitwilliamsburg.com/pancake-trail. More details, including prize announcements and the full list of participating businesses, will be revealed closer to September.

Don’t Miss the Pancake Festival Events!
The festivities heat up with two main events:

Pancake Festival: Kick off the celebrations on Friday, September 26, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Williamsburg Hellenic Center. This family-friendly evening will feature a delightful spread of pancakes, beverages, live music, and engaging games.

Major League Eating Pancake Championship: Prepare for a flapjack showdown on Saturday, September 27, on Duke of Gloucester Street (Merchants Square). Professional competitive eaters will battle it out in a thrilling display of pancake prowess!
