The Musical Swings are landing in Williamsburg this spring, ready to turn the lawn of the Williamsburg Community Building into a full‑on symphony of people trying to remember how to swing without looking awkward. From March 30 through May 17, 2026, you can wander over, grab a seat, and make music simply by doing what you did on playgrounds before life got complicated.

Created by Montreal’s Daily Tous les Jours—a studio famous for getting strangers to interact without it feeling like a forced team‑building exercise—the installation uses color‑coded swings that each play a different note inspired by classical instruments. Piano, guitar, harp, vibraphone… basically the whole “I’m cultured” starter pack. The higher you swing, the higher the note. And when everyone manages to sync up (which is honestly a small miracle), the whole thing blends into a soft, layered melody that feels surprisingly magical.

Chef Abner Alva has been a local’s favorite for years running his food truck and now you can enjoy his food all day.
