Charitywerks Supports March of Dimes
Nov 15 @ 9:00 am – 2:00 pm

We are proud to support March of Dimes Virginia Chapter in November for our monthly Charitywerks/Karaoke event.

March of Dimes volunteers and staff work to influence both legislative and regulatory activities in each state by serving as powerful voices for the needs of pregnant women, infants, children and families. Their efforts span the full range of their annual Advocacy & Government Affairs priorities, including access to care, research and surveillance, and prevention and education.

In Virginia, March of Dimes secured 3 legislative wins in 2018 by successfully advocating to expand Medicaid in the state, which will provide coverage to an additional 160,000 Virginia residents; advocated for TANF funding be utilized to increase use of long acting reversible contraceptives (LARC) to educate and train consumers and providers of their benefits; and secured funding for the Virginia Neonatal Perinatal Collaborative for two years. This funding will allow the collaborative to continue to work on multiple maternal child health initiatives including, but not limited to, improving access and utilization of 17P, reducing maternal hemorrhage, and reducing maternal opioid use in the state.

Alewerks will be donating $1 from each pint sold from 5pm-close to March of Dimes Virginia Chapter

Charitywerks’ mission is to inspire lifelong relationships, spread awareness, and strengthen our community.

SueRay DeeJay Entertainment, LLC will provide Karaoke from 6:30 until 10 and Carmen’s Jamaican Authentic Cuisine. will be here all night serving up their delicious Jamaican food!
