Step back into the Golden Age of Piracy as Riverwalk Landing and the Watermen’s Museum are invaded by seafaring marauders. Landlubbers of all ages are invited to visit the Historic Yorktown waterfront April 27 & 28 to learn lessons and legends from pirates’ lives in the 17th and 18th centuries.

From the dock of the Schooners Alliance and Serenity, Yorktown Sailing Charters to the green at Riverwalk Landing and on down to the Watermen’s Museum, be on the lookout for bold buccaneers and saucy wenches, bringing 18th-century pirate and maritime history to life! There will be hands-on activities, and a treasure hunt for the kids. Explore our pirate encampment, attend pirate school, and witness a pirate trial! Sing along with sea shanties and don’t miss the exciting cannon demonstrations.

You can even sail the stormy waters of the York River with Captain Mayhem who’s always looking for pint-sized recruits to join his crew aboard the Schooner Alliance. No worries. We doubt he’ll make you walk the plank! While most of the family-friendly and pet-friendly fun is free, all schooner sails do require a paid ticket.

There is free parking available in the Water St. Terrace, and there are several free public lots on Ballard Street. You can park at the courthouse and walk down to the waterfront, or hitch a ride our free Trolley!
