A+E Networks® announced a marketing partnership with Ancestry® to create a custom branded mini-series that tells the unique stories of formerly enslaved African Americans.

Executive Director of the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation in Williamsburg, VA, Christy Coleman, will introduce each story to provide historical context.

Coleman told WilliamsburgVisitor it’s not the only first time she has been a collaborator on a documentary.

While none of the stories in the A+E mini-series are specific to the Historic Triangle Coleman detailed the foundation’s local exhibits “JYF will present its After Angelo program. Our core exhibits at Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown both incorporate the stories of African and African Americans to present more complete narratives about what happened at each location.” she said.

The mini-series will air during the HISTORY Channel’s three-night documentary event, “Abraham Lincoln”  Sunday, February 20 and during the broadcast of the new one-hour documentary, “Black Patriots: Heroes of the Civil War” on Monday, February 21. The custom branded mini-series will also be featured across The HISTORY Channel’s digital and social platforms.

Both Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown are open daily 0900 – 5pm
