Travel To Williamsburg May Get Easier

Williamsburg, Virginia has historical sites and theme parks, major metropolitan areas and even beaches all within an hour. What it doesn’t have is access to the mountains. That soon may change as a potential new train route could help all Williamsburg visitors and Virginians travel from the beach to the mountains with Williamsburg right in the middle.
The route being considered by the state aptly named the Commonwealth Corridor would speed rail passengers from the beach to the Blacksburg area in 7 hours.

The route was first proposed in 2018 to reduce traffic and connect the numerous universities and colleges.
