The City of Williamsburg Virginia announced the arrest of 12 men and one woman in a recent prostitution sting. 

Starting in November, the operation ran in 5 separate locations according to a news release Wednesday from the department. Williamsburg and James City have one of the lowest crime rates in the Commonwealth.  Police Chief Sean Dunn said in the release the target of the sting was illegal and immoral acts, not specific properties in the city.

The following were charged in the operation.

  • Christopher French, 38 of Hayes, soliciting a prostitute.
  • Jose Delgado, 31 of Williamsburg, frequenting a bawdy place.
  • Pedro Lopez-Lopez, 29 of Manassas, soliciting a prostitute.
  • Tyler Crandall, 35 of Whitestone, soliciting a prostitute.
  • Eduardo Garcia-Escobar, 34 of Williamsburg, soliciting a prostitute.
  • Shonte Hutchinson, 43 of Hampton, soliciting a prostitute, possession of marijuana.
  • Ruben Todd, 52 of Williamsburg, frequenting a bawdy place.
  • John Sayoun, 43 of Williamsburg, soliciting a prostitute.
  • Richard Reyes, 46 of Williamsburg, soliciting a prostitute.
  • Walter Gard, 52 of Williamsburg, soliciting a prostitute.
  • Penny Sampson, 38 of Newport News, prostitution
  • Herberth Marroquin-Lopez, 38 of Williamsburg, soliciting a prostitute.

The Williamsburg Police undercover investigation began in November 2019 and ended in January.

Police ask if anyone has information about, or is a victim of human trafficking, to contact the National Human Trafficking Hotline at (888) 373-7888, the Williamsburg Police Department at (757) 220-2331, or call 911.
