The Theme Park now has 10 coasters
Busch Gardens Williamsburg has officially open its latest coaster to the public: DarKoaster.
It’s being billed as North America’s first all-indoor straddle coaster and will operate year-round in the Oktoberfest section.
This is a huge event for Busch Gardens as in now has 10 separate roller coasters for visitors to ride at once. It’s also the first roller coaster Busch Gardens has built completely inside the existing footprint of a prior attraction and offering guests another ride for Christmas Town.
Each seat on the ride is meant to look and feel like riding on a snowmobile, with snow effects and 3D animations that pays homage to the longtime favorite DarKastle ride. The new ride offers 4 launches and has over 2,400 feet of coaster track.
DarKoaster is a pretty unique experience, especially if you have ridden other coasters with similar riding positions. The seating position is a bit more upright than you might anticipate and is based on the snowmobile but guests are not told to sit straight up – so go ahead and grab those motorcycle-style grab bars.
