Williamsburg, Virginia-based singer-songwriter Erik Gaines is best known around town for his powerful vocals that cut to the core of his listeners’ emotions. His original music draws influences from artists like JJ Grey and Mofro, Wilson Pickett, and Chuck Ragan, as well as other southern rock, country, folk and blues artists. Many years ago, while growing up near Nashville, a close friend gave him the admonition to “write about what you know”. With that statement as a guide, Erik has finally begun to craft songs that draw from his life experiences and the area he lives.
