Christy Coleman steps down as CEO of the American Civil War Museum January 16th, and into a new role as Executive Director of the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation (JYF) so she’s not closing the book on Virginia’s history, she is expanding it. This is a return to Williamsburg, Virginia for Coleman who started as a 17-year-old reenactor at Colonial Williamsburg and has been in Richmond since 2008.
Coleman is a well respected voice and authority on the cultural and educational importance of museums and historical places for diverse audiences.
As the new director of the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation, Coleman intends to continue telling a more comprehensive story of our nation’s 17th– and 18th-century beginnings.
