ABOUT THE VENUE:

The conveniently located 4,000+ square foot space touts extensive outdoor spaces, including a huge brick patio with walkways in the front of the space, and a spacious brick courtyard in the rear of the space, all set amongst well-manicured landscaping and topiary.

With well over 300 seats, customers have plenty of space to spread out and relax surrounded by Strangeways’ signature decor, while enjoying offerings from Strangeways’ staggering 48 draft lines, which pour a diverse line-up of beer, cider, and flavored spiked sparkling seltzer, wine, and non-alcoholic offerings. Strangeways beers run the gamut — the brewery typically has on tap several fresh IPAs and a variety of Lagers, Pilsners, Ales, Stouts, Porters, Belgians, Sour, and Wild beers, and Barrel-aged beers. Hot and cold snack foods such as nachos, giant soft Bavarian pretzels with beer cheese and mustard, chips and beer queso, along with sweet and savory snack flights, are available on site. To-go or delivery dining options in the shopping center include Plaza Azteca Mexican, Aticha Thai, Subway, Five Guys Burgers, Le Yaca French, Revolution Grille, Tipsy Beans Café, Fat Tuna Seafood, Manhattan Bagel and Chipotle.

About Todd Murray

Todd has been playing music professionally for over 10 years. He’s played acoustic shows in Colorado, Chicago, Ohio, Kentucky, Georgia, Charlotte and now resides in Richmond, VA. He previously played instrumental guitar for Gazebo Weddings of Savannah for two years and continues to play weddings and events all over the US. He has been onstage as a part of theater productions such as Spring Awakening, Passing Strange and PostSecret. His repertoire includes music from The Beatles all the way to The White Stripes. He also has a collection of over 50 original recorded songs to choose from. His music was recently featured on the WGN show “Bellevue” starring Anna Paquin. He is sponsored by Breedlove Guitars.

The family friendly taproom at VBC is 2,000 sq. ft. and able to host up to 135 visitors at a time. It retains the original industrial feel of the building’s history while welcoming guests with modern amenities.  The taproom features two viewing windows looking into the brewing area, as well as a viewing bar top running along both windows. Amenities include 16 taps, beer to go, weekly events, observation windows looking into the brewery, women’s & men’s restrooms, a family restroom with changing table, electric outlets, board & card games, children’s books, and two filtered water fountains. Our roll-up garage door allows access to the beer garden on nice days, and access is always available via the door on the far side of the taproom.
